Oneplus Nord vs Redmi K20 Pro: Latest Premium Mid-ranger vs Old Budget Flagship

Oneplus finally Unveiled its Mid-ranger Oneplus Nord Last month. The Device comes with Pretty good Specs(At least on paper) But How it Compete against Budget Flagships from Last Year. One of the Alternative mentioned was Redmi K20 Pro, Which is available at Rs.24,999 right now and it is Closest Competitor of Oneplus Nord. So, Which one is better? Oneplus Nord or Redmi K20 Pro? I am going to answer this question in this article on the bases of Specifications of Both Devices.

Oneplus Nord vs Redmi K20 Pro: Design & Display

Talking about Design, Oneplus Nord and Redmi K20 Pro both of the Devices comes with Glass-sandwich Design. However, Redmi K20 Pro is having metal frames, While Oneplus Nord comes with Plastic Frames. Another Major Difference is Pop-up mechanism, Redmi K20 Pro comes with Front Pop-up Camera mechanism, on the other side, Oneplus Nord comes with modern Dual Punch-Hole cutout. I would say Both of the devices comes with Attractive and Premium Design. So, You can choose according to your taste.

Talking about Display, Oneplus Nord features 6.44-inch FullHD+ Fluid  AMOLED Display with 90Hz Screen Refresh rate. On the other hand, Redmi K20 Pro features smaller 6.39-inch AMOLED Display with 60Hz Screen Refresh Rate. Both the Devices features Good Display, the Choice is Yours What do you want, 90Hz Screen Refresh Rate of Full-Screen Experience without any Notch.

Oneplus Nord vs Redmi K20 Pro: Hardware & Software

First talking about Hardware, Oneplus Nord is powered by Latest Mid-range 5G-Enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Soc, on the other hand, Redmi K20 Pro is powered by Last year’s Flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Both of the Devices should perform Well in Day-to-Day Usage. However, If You want Gaming or Higher Performance, then Redmi K20 Pro is For You.

Talking about Memory Options, Oneplus Nord comes in three Variants, 6/64GB, 8/128GB,12/256GB. On the other side, Redmi K20 Pro comes in two variants, 6/128GB and 8/256GB. But do Note that Oneplus Nord’s 6GB Variant will be coming in September.

Now coming to Software, Which can be a Key Selling Point of Oneplus Nord. Oneplus Nord runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 10. While Redmi K20 Pro runs on MIUI based on Android 10. A lot of people might prefer Oxygen OS over MIUI because of its Clean Experience and Regular Updates. Yes, Redmi K20 Pro gets timely Updates but with the Oneplus Nord, The Brand Promised Two Major Android Updates and three Years Security Updates. However, there are some people who may prefer Feature-rich MIUI Over Oxygen OS, So We never know.

Talking about Optics, Oneplus Nord features Quad-Camera Set-up at the Rear, Which Includes 48MP Primary Sony IMX586 Sensor, 8MP Ultra Wide-angle lens, 5MP Depth-sensor and a 2MP Macro-lens.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that Oneplus Nord comes with OIS+EIS, while Redmi K20 Pro only features EIS.

Talking about the Battery, Oneplus Nord is equipped with 4115mAh Battery with the Support of 30W Fast-charging. On the other side, Redmi K20 Pro is equipped with 4000mAh Battery with the Support of 27W Fast-charging. However, you will get only 18W Charger in the Box.

In terms of Battery life, Redmi K20 Pro may take Win because of the Smaller and 60Hz Display. On the other side, Oneplus Nord will take the win with the Fast-Charging Speed.  So, Choice is Yours, You want a Phone with  Longer Battery life or a Phone with Fast-charging Speed.

Coming to Connectivity, Both of the Devices comes with USB Type-C and In-Display Fingerprint Sensor. However, One important thing is missing in Oneplus Nord, which is 3.5mm Headphone jack. Oneplus Nord comes with the Support of Bluetooth 5.1, while Redmi K20 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.0. Redmi K20 Pro is a 4G Device, on the other side, Oneplus Nord comes with 5G Connectivity.

So it’s up to You, You want Future Proof Midranger or Comfortable Past Budget Flagship Device. Personally, I’ll Pick up Futureproof Device in Present.

So, If You want a Device with Higher Performance, then Redmi K20 Pro at Rs.24,999 is a Steal Deal. But only at Rs.24,999 because at Rs.29,999, It seems Higher.

On the other hand, If You want a Future proof Device, Which delivers you a Decent Performance Clean User Experience, then Oneplus Nord at Rs.27,999 is Definitely a Good Choice.
